In early July I had the chance to work on renewing my friend Giulio’s site — Mad DJ in the booth. I had built the previous site in 2019, experimenting with PHP and Bootstrap. It worked well, was responsive and looked good, but over time I grew dissatisfied with it. I wanted to improve navigation, make it faster — especially initial load times — and more modern. The old site relied on a homemade system for managing text and translations, which was not ideal. With Giulio’s agreement I took the opportunity to simplify content management using Sanity.io as a CMS and Grommet for an accessible UI.
